The Press and 20 Years of Primado – Fernando Melo in Evasões

WELCOME SPRING!

Budburst in the vineyards can be seen all over the country, the fields are covered in flowers, and there is a general fragrance in the air that celebrates nature’s renewal. Wines follow a similar trend, with exciting new releases emerging everywhere—bottles we’ll want to add to our cellar.

The Dão region is well represented in our selection, featuring a trio of promising projects (…) including the incredible Primado project, (…) seamlessly blending an entrepreneurial and family-driven spirit.

PRIMADO 20

Dão red N/V (12,5%)

Pereira de Melo Family (1,5 l)

120 euros

This is a family-run wine project, led by the passionate Manuel Pereira de Melo, entirely devoted to his family.

A diverse range of wines, remarkable depth and longevity are defining characteristics that make Primado’s production truly unique.
The winemaking is overseen by Patrícia Santos.

This wine is a blend of different vintages, celebrating 20 years of production under the Primado label.

It is made from classic Dão grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Tinta Pinheira. The grapes are foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares, followed by 12 months of ageing in stainless steel, and then 24 months in French oak barrels.
