Primado celebrates 20 Years: A Toast to Two Dreams

It is a moment of great joy for the family to announce the launch of a wine celebrating 20 years since Primado's first harvest. This date symbolises not only the trajectory that has passed since the first harvest, that of 2004, but also the very special moments that marked our founder's life that year.

 “2004 is a year that I will remember forever because of the realisation of two dreams: that of being a father and that of being a producer of great wine.

Both were difficult journeys. Until I had my daughter Maria Sofia in my arms, I suffered terribly painful losses. To produce the first vintage of Primado, we spent fourteen long years taking good care of the vines so that they reached the maturity needed to produce wines of special complexity.

This wine, presented only in a Magnum bottle, is a very limited edition of a blend of wines from different vintages that portrays a journey through 20 years of great emotion, dedication and painstaking work.

In these 20 years, the family has grown with Inês and Maria Benedita and we have all lived the project with great enthusiasm and devotion.”

This wine is clear and intensely shining, revealing a beautiful scarlet red colour. The aromas are very characteristic of Primado Tinto, with a good presence of forest fruits, woods, pine needles, spices and floral notes.

On the palate, the wine's complexity is evident, with a surprising youthfulness and freshness that blend harmoniously with the elegance that distinguishes Primado. Sophisticated, this wine has a velvety flavour where spicy notes stand out, resulting in an unforgettable tasting experience.

Primado 20 has a special capacity for long ageing in the bottle (20 to 40 years), which makes it even more exclusive and valuable.

We hope that the future will be long with the descendants of the family preserving the philosophy that is at the root of our doctrine and which is revealed in these unwavering commitments:

- creation of  wines of great complexity in very limited editions

- careful observation of nature and the extraordinary terroir that hosts us
